Cook Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
120grams plain flour
70g sugar
1 tsp baking powder
30g salted butter, lightly melted
1 egg
100ml skim milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the glaze: 60g icing sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 or 2 Tbsp milk
Method
Preheat the oven to 175°C. Grease a donut mold (or use a silicon mold).
Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together in a large bowl.
In a small bowl, whisk together egg, milk, butter and vanilla extract.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and gently mix together until the ingredients are well-combined. Spoon the batter into the mold until each is just under level.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from the oven and cool the donuts on a wire rack.
In the meantime, mix the icing sugar, vanilla extract and salt together. Add 1 Tbsp of milk and whisk to combine. Add additional milk, bit by bit, until the glaze is at your preferred consistency.
Dip the room temperature donuts in the glaze. Return them the wire rack to set. Set a plate underneath the rack to catch any drips.
Wait half an hour and then eat.
